Wear
Short movie animation
2020
Duration : 13 min
Project supported by Kamal Lazaar Foundation.
Wear is an animation that documents the uncertainties and turmoil that occurred during the period of voluntary confinement that began on March 14. Under the influence of frustration and fear of the unknown, the subject is now faced with himself and confronted with his own thoughts that wear him down and exhaust him slowly and repeatedly. This perpetual inner struggle and emotional degradation is visible in the form of an animated reading of a confinement diary.

Participation in the exhibition “Utopia, 100 years of the Bauhaus” organized by the Goethe-Institut in Dar Lasram, La Medina de Tunis.
My proposal for this exhibition is an open book presented entitled “new reading”. The book, symbol of education, indicates a slow and steady progress towards a goal: learning. But what learning will escape forgetting? Is it the passive learning or the active one which requires the individual to take the liberty to choose it, the one that requires a personal commitment?
The presentation of an open book voided of words where I present the form and the color as a substitute, is a way of protesting the traditional educational system and a desire to revolutionize the learning system, just as did the Bauhaus School, described by several sources as’ a completely atypical school that dreams of reforming education to put revolutionary ideas … more than a school, a utopia strongly influenced by confidence in the future ‘. This textile artwork is also in memory of the bauhaus girls and their tapestry.

We do not escape his daily life. It infiltrates our dreams, our way of expressing itself, it influences our ideas and our way of acting: it is in us. For this creative residency project, I took a step towards the outside: this interior. By privileging the personal experience, the deep observation of my daily life and the exchanges and feelings gathered in the bus and train stations, I created to better understand. Being at the dock is no longer a state of passive stopping but a celebration of silence, a way to protest the daily routine and finally a break that becomes prose.
