Dr Cristina Martinelli

About

I obtained my PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (King's College London) in 2016. My thesis focused on the mechanisms underlying aberrant processing of salience in schizophrenia. Subsequently, I was awarded a NIHR-BRC Bridging Award Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to investigate the neural correlates of value processing in schizophrenia. My current research focuses on the investigation of the neuro-cognitive mechanisms that go awry in psychopathology, with a particular emphasis on schizophrenia and eating disorders. In 2008, I obtained the eligibility to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in my home country. Since 2023 I am on the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a registered Clinical Psychologist in the UK.
