I am a developmental psychologist with research interests which cover aspects of developmental, cognitive and social psychology. My expertise primarily lies in the development of blind children and a variety of aspects of reading development in young children.

Currently I am working on projects looking at:

  • Braille reading in beginning blind readers and braille reading difficulties in this population
  • Letter reversals in young sighted children
  • Social and Academic inclusion in visually impaired and blind adolescents
  • Socio-emotional support for university students with vision impairment
  • Early maths skills and the ANR in young blind children
