About

I graduated with a First Class Honours Masters degree (MPharm) from the School of Pharmacy, Queen's University Belfast in 2006, and obtained a PhD from Kingston Universityin 2022. 

After completion of my pre-registration training I worked for Boots the Chemist as a relief pharmacist before taking on roles as store manager and Area Pharmacy Manager. In 2013, I took up the position of Boots Teacher Practitioner at the University of Hertfordshire. I was responsible for teaching pharmacy practice on the undergraduate pharmacy course and the overseas pharmacists' assessment programme (OSPAP), and also supported Boots pre-registration pharmacists. 

In October 2014, I was appointed to the position of Pharmacy Teaching Fellow at Kingston Universityand in October 2015 I started my PhD in digital public health. In July 2019 I was promoted to senior lecturer.

I maintain close links to community pharmacy, continuing to work for Boots the Chemist as a relief pharmacist and writing for the Chemist and Druggist magazine. I also write for the online newspaper, The Conversation.
