Research

Research grant awarded for the research project: "Autodidactic non-invasive monitoring system for vulnerable users with alerts using machine learning" under the 'First Grants Scheme 2019/20'. The aim of this  project was to develop an autodidactic tool that learns a vulnerable individual's daily routine so that alerts can be generated if that routine starts changing. Using a data-driven approach this tool collects, in real-time and in a non-invasive way, data generated by smart wearables. This tool also measures individual's heart rate, temperature and breathing rate and the current aim is to enhance the existing application to add on new features and vital measurements, such as blood oxygenation which is a key indicator of overall wellness. This will be an added benefit with the existing features that can monitor epilepsy, fall over and boundary restrictions.
